If necessary, a deep cleaning of the periodontal pockets under local anesthesia, called curettage, can be performed. These treatments can, if the dentist deems it necessary, be supplemented by antibiotic treatment.<\/p>

In cases where gum diseases are observed at more advanced stages, surgical procedures come into play. In these operations, performed under local anesthesia, the inner parts of the gums and bone surfaces are thoroughly cleansed of inflammatory tissues. Periodontal surgical procedures can also be carried out with laser applications.<\/p>
